James M. "Jim" Insley lost a long
and brave battle with cancer at home on
Sunday, January 24, 1999. He leaves behind a
loving family and many friends, all who will miss his happy smile and warm
touch.
Mr. Insley was born in Brookview,
MD, on February 14, 1931, the son of the
late James Maxwell Insley and Katie Spruill Insley.
Mr. Insley was a veteran of the United
States Navy and was past president of
M.B.I. Inc. Construction and Real Estate Development.
Surviving are his children, Mark
E. Insley of Wilmington, N.C., Paul G. Insley
and wife, Fran of Cary, N.C. and James M. Insley
and fiance, Deborah
Connor of Chadbourn, N.C, Miss Julia Jean Insley
of Durham, N.C., Mrs. Melissa
Insley Winslow and husband, Scott of Matthews,
N.C., Ms. Janet Insley Carter of
Wilmington, N.C., and Mrs. Suzy Insley Nisbet
and husband, Stuart of Cary,
N.C.; six grandchildren, Shannon Murrell,
Alicia and Adam Insley, Tiffany Insley and
Nicole and Rachel Nisbet; a brother, Martin Insley
and wife, Aldean of New
Bern, N.C.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Marie
Caddy and Mrs. Rosa Muse; and companion,
Judith R. Mayhew of Wilmington, N.C.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday,
January 27, 1999 at the First
Christian Church, 2035 Oleander Drive, Wilmington,
by the Rev. Kathy
Reinger.
