FREDERICK J. JINKS, SR.

Frederick J. Jinks, Sr., age 87, of Leland, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 64 years, Patricia; three sons and their wives, Frederick Jr. and Susan, Christopher and Pamela, and Kevin and Kim; two daughters, Ellen Walters and husband Richard and Carolyn Jinks; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Granieri; and a brother, Edward Jinks. Another sister, Claire Barnes, preceded him in death.

Fred was a proud Navy veteran who served at the end of WWII and again during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the 2011 Honor Flight from Wilmington to Washington to view the War Memorials, and a member of American Legion Post 10.

A graduate of Rutgers University, Fred was a retiree of the Grumman Corp., Bethpage, NY, where he held several business administration positions including Director of Contracts at GDS.

Fred enjoyed 25 years of retirement, golfing, fishing, bowling, cruising and attending all the special family events. He treasured the memories of his life on Leaf Ct., Long Island, NY and felt he had a good life and wanted everyone to remember he was "easy."

Visitation will be held from 7pm to 9pm, Friday, May 1, 2015 at Andrews Market Street Chapel. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10am, Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary. Interment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
