Darrell R. Pape

September 29, 1948 - December 16, 2006

Darrell R. Pape, age 58, of Niceville, Florida passed away December 16, 2006 in Houston, Texas. He was born in Marinette, Wisconsin to Kenneth and Elizabeth (Wertepny) Pape.

1 of 12 siblings. Darrell served 4 years in the Navy, and retired from Eglin AFB, serving 36 ½ years in Civil Service. He was active in his community as a member of the Playground Corvette Club of Fort Walton Beach, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Blue Water Bay Sailing Club, VP for Windward Association of BWB, Elks Lodge, Mardi Gras Club of FWB, ABWA, and Fort Walton Beach Harley Owners Group. He is a member of the National Corvette Museum and served as the auctioneer for the NCM and other fund raisers.
 
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Norman and Elizabeth (Wertepny) Pape, brother Donald and sister Rose Anne. Survivors are his wife of 37 years, Deborah; son Darren K.; brothers and sisters Dennis and wife Anne, Dale and wife Diane, Kathy Daniel and husband John, Douglas, Judy Hansen and husband Joe, Dean, Debbie Hennessy and husband Tim, Kenneth and wife Theresa, Sheila Denton and husband Brent, and Pat and wife Teresa.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home of Niceville.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church of Niceville. Interment followed in Heritage Gardens Cemetery with a gathering following interment in the Holy Name of Jesus Social Center.
