This is the Captain speaking...
A letter from the Commanding Officer

Those of us who knew Ray aboard RICH or came to know him from USS Rich Ship's Company reunions will remember him as a fun-loving man with a wonderful sense of humor.

As a Radioman Chief Petty Officer, Ray was very technologically savvy with the electronics of the time but wasn't drawn into computers until well into his retirement.  As he mastered the PC he became an aficionado of electronically transmitted humor sending thousands of email messages to appreciative recipients throughout the world.
