Robert Frank Tubbs
 



Mr. Tubbs, 75, of Charlotte, died Saturday, June 26, 2004 at Presbyterian Hospital, Main. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, with the Reverends Dr. Richard Randolph and Mark King officiating. Mr. Tubbs' body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends in the narthex of the church following the service.

Born March 12, 1929, in Seymour, WI, a son of the late Frank Willet and Mary McCord Tubbs, he married Patricia Joan Behler on November 23, 1951.

Mr. Tubbs served in the US Navy for nine years, and, for 32 years, worked with Copes Vulcan of Erie, PA. After retiring, he enjoyed bowling and square dancing until illness prevented him from participating. Mr. Tubbs was a lifetime member of the Solar Masonic Lodge in Bath, ME, Consistories in Lowell and Boston, MA, Scottish Rite Bodies and Oasis Temple of the Shrine.

In addition to Patricia, his wife of 52 years, survivors include two sons, Nolan W. Tubbs (Jill) of Crystal Lake, IL and Loel S. Tubbs (Michelle) of Seal Beach, CA; one daughter, Roberta Jo Doss (Rusty) of Charlotte; three brothers, William (Gloria) of Seymour, Dale (Kathryn) of Anchorage, AK, and James (Dixie) of Green Bay, WI; one sister, Katherine Pacheco (Frank) of Denver, CO; five grandchildren; and two step grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tubbs was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ellen.
