Ahoy All Former Vietnam Era Destroyermen,

I am a retired Chief Petty Officer and a Vietnam Veteran with almost 23 years of active service. I have served aboard the USS Robert K. Huntington (DD-781) and the USS Jonas Ingram (DD-938). I also have a daughter in the Navy, a PS2, who serves with VF31 at NAS Oceana, VA and another who is married to an Army captain. I currently live in Norfolk, VA.

This is an invitation to all former Vietnam Era Destroyermen, (1960-1975) including those from the USS Rich (DD/DDE-820) to participate in a unique event at sea combining not only a reunion of Vietnam Veterans, but the Valentine's Day holiday as well. All survivors, families and friends of former Vietnam Era Destroyermen as well as those Vietnam Vets who served in a shore duty capacity and aboard the River Patrol Boats (PBR's), swift boats and assault vessels are invited to sail with us as well. We want ALL of you!

We will embark on a five night cruise aboard the 47,262 ton Carnival "Celebration" which is sailing round trip out of Jacksonville, Florida on February 10th, 2007. She will be visiting the ports of Key West, Florida and Nassau, the Bahamas as well as her home port of Jacksonville. See "P.S." below for website links and more information about this trip:

The cruise includes your accommodations, all onboard meals, all onboard entertainment and complete room service 24/7. In addition, Carnival Cruiseline has graciously agreed to provide us with a get acquainted shared cocktail party (open bar for one hour) as well as an onboard credit of $25.00 per cabin to spend as you wish on the ship.

The TOTAL cost is $858.76 per COUPLE for an inside cabin. Oceanview staterooms are also available at a small additional charge. These prices are PER COUPLE TOTALS (NOT a per person total) and include your cruise fare, all port charges and all taxes. You pay only for tips, alcohol, soft drinks and (if you choose) whatever you should decide to contribute to the casino. Trip cancellation, interruption and medical insurance is optional. Stateroom numbers are assigned by the cruiseline at sailing and any FREE upgrades are done at Carnival's discretion if available at that time. All staterooms are limited and are subject to availability. Sorry, all balcony suites are sold out at this time.

A deposit of $25.00 per person is due at booking in order to guarantee the above rate. We have been given a very limited amount of cabins at this price. When they're gone, they're gone! Your second deposit of $175.00 per person will not be due until October 13th and you have until December 12th, 2006 to make your final payment.

Deposits can be made on any type of debit or credit card and all money, including your optional insurance premium if you take it, is refunded back to your card with NO PENALTY if you cancel your stateroom before the cutoff date of  December 12th, 2006.
