Dear Mr. Walker,

Please allow us the opportunity to thank you for allowing some of our crew members to be guests of the
USS Laffey for our first Field Day aboard the ship.

For four days our Work Party members took a step back in time 40-50 years to a place of fond memories
of Navy shipboard life as young men.   While there, many of us found muscles and other body parts
which may have been dormant since that time.  It also appears the ship’s ladders have been modified
to a much steeper and narrower version.  Likewise the hatches seemed to be considerable smaller.

We look forward to the time that we may perform additional TAD assignments aboard the Laffey in
concert with your organization, the Tin Can Sailors Association and the Patriot’s Point Maritime Museum.
